How to Play Blackjack
The game 21 or blackjack has been around since the 18th centuries. The game probably was around before this time. The game at one time used to be everyone’s favorite poker game. Today, players still enjoy playing the game of poker; despite they have a wider variety of poker rounds to choose from in the casinos.
The objective of blackjack:
The player must accumulate his cards to earn points, i.e. getting as close as he can to 21. If the player goes over 21, it is a bust. If the player is holding face cards, such as Kings, Queens, or Jacks, the cards are counted as ten points. An Ace counts for one or eleven. Holding an Ace is a good thing. If the player has deuces, or other non-face cards, the value of the cards represent the same amount showing on the card. If the players tie (House Tie) then the game is pushed, which means another game begins. The players lose. If the player is holding an Ace and a Ten, thus this is a blackjack.
At the beginning of the game, the players are dealt two cards. If the player gets a blackjack on the first hand, this the player wins automatically. If another player has a blackjack, then it is a House Tie. Players during the game can stand, fold, or wager at anytime during the game.
In order for a player to win a round in blackjack, he has to beat the other players and dealer without going over 21. (Bust) If you have over 21, it is an automatic bust. The players can come as close to 21 as possible and win the game without a blackjack. The value of the hand is added to determine if you win.
At the table, up to six players can join the game of blackjack. The dealer uses six or either eight-card decks during the game of blackjack. The cards are shuffled and put into the “Shoe.” This is the card dispenser box.
Blackjack played in homes often the dealer uses one deck of cards. Your odds are higher if the dealer uses only one deck. At the only casinos up to eight decks are used and shuffled together. The odds are reduced, yet it is possible to win.
Before the start of blackjack, all players must place their bets. Once the bets are wagered the dealer then presents two cards facing up on the table. The dealer deals himself a face down and face up set of cards. At this time, the players can either say “Hit,” in which the dealer will give the player another card. The players only ask for a hit if their cards are low. If a player has 19 as the value of both cards, then it is not wise to ask for another hit, unless you think you will get a deuce. If you get a three, it is a bust and you lose the game.
The dealer must take his turn if the players have not busted. Once each player has the hand they believe has not gone over 21, thus the dealer will expose his card facing down on the table. If the dealer has 17 or better, at most casinos he is obligated to stay. Counts of sixteen or less, the dealer is obligated to draw.
If you have a blackjack (ACE/Ten), you win the game unless the dealer has a blackjack too. This is called a Tie, Push, or a Stand Off. In this instance, you do not lose or win. Rather your bet is returned to you. Each player at the table, if they players have a higher hand wins equal amounts of the bets wagered by them. If the players hand is low, thus they lose the bet. All players that are at the table win if the dealer goes over 21, or busts.
With blackjack, the players can choose their bet options, such as Split, Even Money, Double Down, Surrender, or Insurance.
